Chi Kung – Cultivate Energy, Balance & Inner Strength
Chi Kung (also spelled Qigong) is an ancient Chinese art of energy cultivation, designed to harmonise the body, calm the mind, and nourish the spirit. Through gentle movements, mindful breathing, and focused intention, Chi Kung helps you reconnect with your natural vitality and develop a deep sense of inner balance.
Whether you’re seeking greater wellbeing, stress relief, or a more embodied way of living, Chi Kung offers a powerful yet accessible path of transformation.
I work mainly with a set called Tong Ling, a gentle set of forms that work all parts of the body and a stronger form called Vein Tendon or Yi Jin Jing, this form was discovered by Bodhidharma after 9 days and nights in meditation, it was this form that helped the monks at the Shaolin Temple stay physically healthy during long meditation sessions.
What to Expect in a Session
My Chi Kung sessions combine traditional practices with a grounded, modern approach. You’ll be guided through:
-
Slow, flowing movements that open the body and release tension
-
Breathwork to enhance energy flow and calm the nervous system
-
Standing postures and meditative focus that build strength and presence
-
Gentle stretching and grounding exercises to support physical alignment and emotional balance
All practices are suitable for beginners and can be adapted to any level of mobility.
Benefits of Chi Kung
Regular practice of Chi Kung can help you to:
-
Reduce stress, anxiety and emotional overwhelm
-
Strengthen the immune system and support natural healing
-
Improve posture, flexibility and joint mobility
-
Increase energy levels and reduce fatigue
-
Enhance focus, clarity and emotional resilience
-
Develop a deeper connection with your body and breath
-
Cultivate inner stillness, confidence, and a sense of wellbeing
Many people find Chi Kung a natural complement to meditation, yoga, or other holistic therapies – yet it is also a complete practice in its own right.
Why Try Chi Kung?
Chi Kung is more than exercise – it is a way of coming home to yourself. With steady practice, you’ll begin to notice subtle shifts: more spaciousness in your mind, more ease in your body, and a growing sense of vitality that carries into everyday life.
If you’re ready to explore a gentle, energising practice that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing, Chi Kung is a beautiful place to begin.
